Test Process
Sample Information
DNA can be tested from blood, oral epithelial cells, and hair with roots. However, for sufficient DNA extraction, we recommend blood and oral epithelial cell samples.
DNA extracted from your submitted sample will be stored frozen for 1 year, so you can request additional tests without sending additional samples later (please consult if you wish to extend storage).
Free Collection Kit Application
Apply by phone (1577-6505) or leave your address, phone number, and name on the website, and we will send it immediately after registration. Alternatively, you can purchase clean sterile swabs from a pharmacy.
You can download the application form from the website, or if downloading is difficult, you can write the applicant's name, test name, address, and phone number on regular paper.
Sample Collection Methods
Blood Sample Collection
- You can have blood drawn at an animal hospital.
- Blood should be collected in EDTA tubes containing anticoagulant, 1 cc or more.
- If you collect blood through an animal hospital, please consult with the veterinarian.
Oral Epithelial Cell Sample Collection
- Rub the gums and inside of the cheeks about 10-20 times with a swab (hold the swab handle, touching the swab with your hands may contaminate it).
- Cut off the part you held with your hands and put the collected part of the swab in a clean ziplock bag or free collection kit.
- Sampling after food intake may affect test results, so please collect samples about 30 minutes to 1 hour after eating.
- After sealing, please write the name.
